Traffic Citations
Once a traffic citation is issued, a notification letter will be mailed within 48 hours, detailing:
The charges associated with the citation
Your assigned court date (if applicable)

Parking Citations
You have 30 days to pay a parking citation.
Expired meter citations may be paid at a reduced rate if paid within 48 hours.
After 30 days, the full citation amount will be reflected under “30 or more days” on your notice.

If you’ve received a traffic or parking citation from the Town of Bath, please review the information below to understand your options and next steps.
Option 1: Pay the Citation Without a Court Appearance
If your citation does not require a court appearance, you can pay your fine using one of the methods below:
✅ Online Payment
Visit townofbathwv.gov/citations and include your citation number when submitting payment.
✅ In-Person or By Mail
Send or deliver payment to:

Option 2: Request a Court Appearance
If you wish to contest your citation, or if your letter indicates a mandatory court appearance, contact the Municipal Court Clerk at 304-258-1102 to schedule your court date and time.
Mandatory court appearances will be clearly stated in the letter sent to you.
⚠️ Important Note:
Failure to pay your citation or appear in court as required may result in serious consequences:
Suspension of your driver’s license until the citation is resolved
Collection actions for unpaid balances
For traffic violations, a capias (arrest warrant) may be issued, including additional fines and penalties
