Heartfelt Visit to the Morgan County Humane Society
Message from Mayor Greg Schene
Town of Bath, Berkeley Springs
I spent some time today with Julie Vogel and Pat Jager visiting the dogs and cats at the Morgan County Humane Society. It is a privilege to have such a dedicated no-kill shelter right here in our community, where every animal is given a safe place to stay for as long as they need it.
However, the reality of a no-kill mission is that without our help, some of these wonderful pets may spend their entire lives within the shelter walls. While they are safe and loved by the staff, nothing compares to the comfort of a real home and a family of their own.
To further complicate the mission of the committed folks at Human Society, the cost of veterinary care is skyrocketing, and providing medical attention, vaccinations, and daily nutrition for these animals is a massive undertaking. Donations are more critical now than ever. To ensure that no pet has to live out their life in a kennel and that every animal receives the care they deserve, we need to step up together.
How you can make an immediate impact today:
- Financial Donations: Every dollar helps cover rising medical and surgical costs.
- Pet Food Drops: High-quality dog and cat food is always needed.
- Supplies: Cleaning supplies and blankets are essential for daily operations.
The Town of Bath is a community that cares. Let’s work together to ensure these animals find the “furever” homes they deserve.
