We are excited to let you know that the mobile mammogram unit known as the Bonnie Bus will have stops in Berkeley, Morgan, and Jefferson Counties.
What type of payment is accepted on the Bonnie Bus?
The Bonnie Bus serves anyone who has private insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, or those who qualify for the West Virginia Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program. Uninsured patients living in West Virginia who are 40 years and older can receive a screening mammogram on the Bonnie Bus through the generosity of grant funding and donations.
Who can get a mammogram on the Bonnie Bus?
The bus provides mammograms to individuals who fall within the screening guidelines, including women, men, transgender, and gender-diverse people who:
- Live in West Virginia and are age 40 and older, regardless of ability to pay.
- Live in West Virginia and are age 35-39 and are requesting a baseline mammogram with a payment source.
- Age 40 and older with previous breast cancer related issues and need a routine mammogram
- Live outside of West Virginia and are age 40 or older with a payment source for the mammogram.
Uninsured patients living in West Virginia over the age of 40 will not be turned away. Grant funding and donations will be used to cover the cost.
Where will the Bonnie Bus be?
The Bonnie Bus will be in Jefferson County on March 4th, Berkeley County on March 5th and 6th, and in Morgan County on March 7th. Each day the bus can schedule up to 25 visitors, so please schedule early to secure your appointment.
