Historic Landmarks Committee

Town of Bath Historic Landmarks Projects

A committee dedicated to preserving the architecture, stories, and spirit of America’s First Spa Town.

From historic inns and churches to hidden architectural treasures and stories passed down through generations, the Historic Landmarks Committee works to document, protect, and celebrate the unique character of the Town of Bath. Through research, preservation advocacy, walking tours, education, and community partnerships, the committee helps keep local history alive for future generations.

Step into the stories behind the streets, buildings, and legends that shaped the Town of Bath. These short films and features explore the people, places, preservation efforts, and enduring character that continue to define Berkeley Springs today.

Preservation is not about freezing a town in time — it is about giving historic places a future.

We are seeking information from anyone who may have attended the church, had family connections to it, or possess photographs, documents, memories, or historical knowledge related to the property. Please use the Contact Us button below

Some of Berkeley Springs’ most important historic structures face threats from neglect, weather, redevelopment pressure, or lack of awareness. By documenting endangered properties and sharing their stories, the committee hopes to encourage restoration, partnerships, and preservation before these irreplaceable landmarks are lost.
