Make it shine

make it shine event - april 4, 2026, 9am-12pm

The WV Make It Shine Program is West Virginia’s statewide volunteer cleanup initiative led by the WV Department of Environmental Protection through the REAP (Rehabilitation Environmental Action Plan) program. Its goal is to bring communities together to remove litter, beautify public spaces, and protect the environment across the state. Each spring, during the annual Make It Shine cleanup period, volunteers work side-by-side to clean parks, streets, waterways, cemeteries, and other shared spaces that make their towns welcoming and safe. The program supports local efforts by providing cleanup supplies, coordinating trash disposal, and encouraging civic pride through hands-on service.

In the Town of Bath, volunteers are invited to take part in Make It Shine projects throughout the community, including Greenway Cemetery, town parks, and along local streets and public rights-of-way.

These cleanup events focus on removing litter, clearing debris, and improving the overall appearance of areas that residents and visitors use every day. Volunteers can meet at Town Hall to sign in, receive supplies such as gloves and bags, and then work together to help make Bath shine.

No special experience is needed—just a willingness to help. Those interested in volunteering can contact the Town of Bath for locations and additional details, and join neighbors in keeping the town clean, safe, and beautiful for everyone.

If you would like to help Greenway Cemetery – Meet at the Shed in the Cemetery and there will be someone to help you.
